Dark Knight Project Hits Big Screen Saturday

This just in: The Dark Knight Project will get its first public screening this weekend, as part of The Chicago International Reel Shorts Festival. The short will be shown Saturday, September 13th, after the 7 PM sci-fi/horror show in the Film Row Cinema at Columbia College (1104 S. Wabash) on the top floor.

Although not listed on the festival site’s schedule, The Dark Knight Project was a late entry addition and will be shown at that time. Filmmaker Jerry Vasilatos will also be a presenter at this year’s Chicago New Media Summit next Monday (September 15) at the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art on Chicago Avenue, where he will talk about the short film at 7:00 PM and how it was virally marketed online.

For those coming in late, Vasilatos’s contribution to the “Batman” mythos, set between the events of Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins and this summer’s blockbuster hit, The Dark Knight premiered online July 14th, four days before The Dark Knight hit theaters after being produced in just under a month. The film has been seen by over 7,000 viewers in its first two months online.
