May 3: THE HUNT FOR GOLLUM Fan Film Released Online!
The long-awaited fan film based on J.R.R. Tolkein’s Lord of the Rings trilogy is now online. The flick is based on appendices to the classic trilogy, following Aragorn/Strider as he tracks down, well, Gollum.
May 4: 6 Lord of the Rings Fan Films Besides Hunt For Gollum
Despite the worldwide popularity of The Lord of the Rings trilogy, there aren’t tons of related fan films out there. It’s not all a barren wasteland, however—here’s some LOTR fan films that the fans swear by (or at, and occasionally even in).

Filmmaker Nabil Abou-Harb recently won Link TV’s One Nation Many Voices Online Film Contest with his comedic, if moderately controversial short film, Arab in America. He began making movies six years ago when he lensed the never-completed fan film, Star Wars: Rise of the Black Sun while in high school.
May 13: Doctor Who 2009 Fan Film Trailer Debuts Online
A group of dedicated Doctor Who fans made a splash earlier this year when they announced plans for a 13-episode fan film series. The first trailer is online, and damn if it doesn’t look pretty good….
May 18: MidDay—A Fun Twilight Fan Film Parody
Love Twilight? Hate it? Either way, you’ll probably be amused by MidDay, a genial fan film that had my wife, the resident Twi-Hard, giggling away.
May 22: Memorial Day Weekend Fan Films: Pearl Harbor II
